Question
How do you build a system for presentations worth sharing?
Work
Presentation-system design, content generation, reference management and reusable creative material.
I was tired of seeing the brand and the story change from one presentation to the next. Each new deck seemed to reopen decisions about tone, narrative and design.
A good deck travels. It gets forwarded, reused and discussed in conversations you’re not part of. It becomes a piece of marketing in its own right.
I built an internal presentation workspace for Veylan to explore how shared company knowledge and creative guidance could make that standard easier to achieve.
Start with what the company knows
The reference library brings together product knowledge, audience definitions, research and strategic material. It gives the team a shared foundation for explaining the business.
Alongside those references, presentation-generation instructions guide tone, narrative structure, slide count and layouts.
The design connects those two kinds of input to a brief: what the company needs to communicate and how a presentation should express it. That gives generation direction before it begins producing slides.
Give people room to shape the story
The workspace generates a deck, then provides tools for editing its slides and images, presenting, exporting and sharing.
I wanted the experience to support the process of making a presentation good. The argument may need sharpening. A slide may say too much. An image may look polished while doing little to explain the idea.
Editing lets the team develop the generated material through those decisions. They can revise the language and visual expression to suit the audience and the conversation.
The product brings generation and refinement into the same place, so the work can continue after the first version appears.
Make strong material useful again
A slide gallery makes existing material available to build from. Deck starters offer suggested narratives, and saved presentations can be remixed for another audience or purpose.
That gives the next presentation somewhere useful to begin. The team can draw on a story or slide it has already developed, then adapt it to what the new situation requires.
The library keeps decks, documents and references together. The ambition is to make the company’s knowledge and its strongest ways of explaining that knowledge increasingly useful across the team.
Keeping every generation workflow synchronized with edited reference material remains follow-up work. The connection needs to hold as the business and its story change.
